Artists’ statement
The meaning of my work is to express the nature and meaning of art itself. Etymology and the aesthetic nature of the mediums used play a large role in the development of the work, however the most important aspects of the work are how each individual piece can stand alone with a clear message of its own while still communicating the greater message of the magnum opus. While it has been made evident that most people see little more than the aesthetic, I do believe that with a little volition the symbols I use are fairly obvious in their representations and I have no other way to explain their meanings except to paint them as I already have. More importantly, I think that each persons interpretation should be unique to them, that each bond between painting and viewer is a matter of how they have personally come to understand the same universal symbols through their unique epistemological perspective.
